Sportality recruits a new key player to its board

The sports-oriented SaaS provider Sportality has recently extended its board with a new member. With experience from similar growing SaaS companies, the new addition Björn Lilja will bring both experience and new perspectives into the company.

42-year-old Björn Lilja is a founder of the SaaS company Kundo and is a board member of SaaS companies Learnster and Kodiak. During recent years he has been exploring new challenges and found one of them in the Swedish tech and service company Sportality.

– Sportality’s total offer makes it possible for leagues and clubs to grow their fan base and its level of engagement. It also helps leagues and clubs increase revenue, based on digital solutions previously not available for many customers. Sportality combines a modern SaaS product with a strong supply of valuable, related services. This combination makes Sportality one of a kind and has caught my attention, says Björn Lilja.

Since 2005, Sportality has been delivering digital solutions and content services to many of the top Swedish sports leagues.

– Adding Björn Lilja to our board adds both experience and new perspectives into our business. We’ve been getting to know each other for some time, and we are very pleased to be able to add Björn as a board member. This will strengthen the base for our upcoming growth in Europe, says chairman Anders Ferntoft of Sportality.

'Sportality has league and club customers in football, ice hockey, basketball, floorball, and speedway in the Nordics, including major leagues such as the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and the women’s football league OBOS Damallsvenskan. The next step is to reach new parts of the European market.

– Sportality has a unique position, not only in the Nordics but also in the rest of Europe and possibly worldwide. The company has been flying under the radar for some time, but we are about to see things come alive at a larger scale, says Björn Lilja.
